FAQ
Short answers to the questions everyone asks.
What is PC Atlas?
A free deal finder for PC parts. We pull listings from multiple retailers, score each one by value, and show you the cheapest place to buy every part, new or used.
Do I buy from PC Atlas?
No. You buy from the store (eBay, Newegg, B&H and more as we add them). Every Buy button takes you to the retailer, where you pay and get their normal returns and warranty.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free to use. When affiliate programs are active, some store links may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes a part's score or ranking.
What is the value score?
A 0–100 rating of how much you get for the money: price vs. MSRP, price vs. similar parts, condition (new, open box, used), and performance per dollar. 90+ is an excellent deal.
Why do some pages say "Example prices"?
We're connecting retailer price feeds now. Until they're live, a few pages show example listings so you can see how everything works. Real prices replace them automatically.
How often are prices updated?
Once live, prices are re-checked automatically several times a day. Prices can still change on the store's side, so the store page always has the final price.
Are used parts safe to buy?
Used and open-box listings are clearly labeled and scored with condition in mind. Stick to sellers with buyer protection (like eBay's Money Back Guarantee) and check return windows.
What does the price history chart show?
The lowest price we found for that exact product each day. If today's price is at or near the 30-day low, it's usually a good time to buy.
How does the PC Wizard work?
Answer a few questions (budget, what you'll use it for, resolution) and it builds a complete, compatible PC from today's best-value parts. A bigger upgrade with game and app picks is on the way.
Do my saved lists and cart sync?
They're always saved on your device. If you create an account, they also sync across your devices. Nobody else can see them.
How do price-drop alerts work?
Enter your email on the homepage and pick a category. Alert emails are switching on soon. Your signup is saved now, and every email will have a one-click unsubscribe.
