How the PC Atlas Value Score Works

Updated October 12, 2026 · PC Atlas

Every deal on PC Atlas gets a value score from 50 to 99. It answers one question: how good is this price for what you get?

GPUs and CPUs: performance per dollar

For graphics cards and processors we compare gaming performance divided by today's price (including shipping) against the best performance-per-dollar part in the same category. The best value in a category scores 99; a part that delivers half as much performance per dollar lands in the mid-70s.

Everything else: price vs. typical price

For RAM, storage, cases, coolers, power supplies and motherboards, we compare the price to that part's typical street price. Paying the typical price scores 75. Paying about 20% less scores around 90.

How to use it

  • 85+: a genuinely good price. If you need the part, this is a good time.
  • 70–84: fair. Fine if you need it now; set an alert if you can wait.
  • Under 70: you're paying a premium. Check alternatives.

What it doesn't measure

The score doesn't judge build quality, noise, warranty or looks. A quiet premium cooler can score lower than a loud budget one. Use the score to find a fair price, then pick the part that fits your build.
